I still remember nursery rhymes after all these years

February 3rd, 2010 by admin

Isn’t it crazy that stuff like nursery rhymes stick in your head for like thirty years, but certain blog passwords evade you from yesterday? Apparently, a five-year-old can remember every line from Ghostbusters for three decades, but a grown person can’t remember where she left her keys from five hours ago.

Other things I remember from childhood:

• The planets in order from the Sun (this is when Pluto was still considered a planet)

• My address from 1977

• My sister’s locker combination

Things I’ve forgotten that I wish I didn’t”

• The presidents of the U.S. in order (I was in gifted so we didn’t spend time learning useful stuff)

• States and capitals

• The number of people I’ve slept with.

But, man, Jack sure was nimble and quick.
