Making money with my video footage online

I had been filming the video for many years now and have ended up with a whole load of video tapes in my cupboard. A friend of mine told me that I should upload them to the Internet to try to make some money out of my content.
But I had to ask my friend how to start a tv station and he told me that it is very simple all you need is the right software and once you have this you can upload your video footage schedule your content on a 24-hour schedule and that it basically you can launch your TV station.
