If you missed payments on your mortgage, is it still possible to keep your lender from foreclosing your home?  If you think that you can’t do anything to save your home, you’re mistaken.  Instead of just waiting, the best thing to do is to speak with your lender. Why were you not able to submit your payments for the past month?  Did you lose your job or did you get sick?  Were you forced to shut down your family business or are you going through a divorce?  Explaining to your lender the circumstances that caused you to miss your monthly payment can save you.  Let your lender know the steps you’re doing to keep up with your payment obligations.  Ask for a modification of your loan’s terms so that repayment would be easier for you.  If you mortgage lender can see your sincerity and your willingness to pay, there is a big chance that your lender will not push through with the foreclosure. In fact, many home loan companies have provisions for clients who request changes with their repayment terms due to the difficult situations they face.  Instead of foreclosing your home, your lender may prefer to give you a chance to continue your payment and keep your home.
