The economic dynamics affecting the currency used in Mexico
June 27th, 2008 by admin
Years ago (1970’s) the bottom fell out of the currency market for the Mexican dollar in response to economic turmoil that resulted from defaulting on foreign debt. From an economic standpoint of reference, when your currency is weak you lack international purchasing power and the importation of foreign goods becomes much more expensive. Prudent changes in Mexican economic affairs have resulted in a strengthening of the currency used in Mexico. This makes foreign goods much cheaper to purchase but hampers export industries who find that there goods become more expensive in foreign currency terms. Balancing currency trade offs is always a primary consideration of government policy makers.
