The Task Of Creating A Restaurant Layout

November 27th, 2008 by admin

So, you’ve made up your mind to start a restaurant.  You’ve done the necessary market research, found a great location, already have staffing solutions in mind, and you’ve got all of your financial ducks in a row.  But as close as you are, you still have one thing you’ve yet to complete: The Restaurant Layout.

This can be problematic for one simple reason: your layout needs to serve two specific purposes.  For starters, it must be functional.  This is certainly true for the kitchen and storage areas, but it is no less important for overall traffic flow, restroom accessibility and so on.

Secondly, it must be appealing.  This is more true for the physical dining area than anything.  You want to create an atmosphere that is comfortable and aimed at creating repeat customers.
