Dealing With An Orthoplast Thumb Spica
June 20th, 2008 by admin
There is nothing fun in finding out that a seemingly small sports injury to your thumb can potentially sideline you from action for up to 9 weeks! This happened to my little brother yesterday, as he was practicing shooting hoops. A simple misjudgement, and now he's having to deal with an orthoplast thumb spica. The injury to his thumb is going to require that it's kept as immobile as is possible, and the doctors told him that the anatomically form fitting Orthoplast spica would could actually help speed up the recover process due to it's ability to secure the thumb and keep it motionless.
