Getting Online Chinese Lessons

February 11th, 2010 by admin

online chinese lessons are a very good way of preparing yourself for getting immersed in Chinese culture when you visit the country. Not a lot of the Chinese speak English so it would not be wise to travel to China, whether for business or pleasure, unarmed with even basic knowledge of Chinese. There are free online Chinese lessons you can take which you can find through search engines. They will teach you at least conversational phrases such as how to greet people, comment on the weather, ask for the time, and ask for directions. If you wish to go in-depth, you can always pay a reasonable price for more advanced lessons.

The Master

February 9th, 2010 by admin

Time to put down the cello and learn how to rock with the best of them. Or at least that was my plan. With the help of learn and master guitar reviews, I was able to learn how to play the guitar in a little under 24 months. That’s nothing compared to learning to play other musical instruments. I now enjoy playing the guitar and it’s all because the learn and master guitar program helped me realize that I was capable of learning the guitar without major “fuss” involved.

I could learn at my own pace while enjoying myself at the same time. I am so happy I checked out learn and master guitar. You will be too.

Seeing My Son Play Celtic Harps For The First Time

February 7th, 2010 by admin

I know that it is every mother’s dream to see her child be successful when he grows up. I also have my own kids, and I am one proud mother. My son is a musician, and he gets paid really well for doing something that he loves. When I last attended his show, I was surprised to see him play the unique Celtic harps. As far as I can remember, it was the very first time for me to see him use the harps yet he was already very good at it. I know that he just has the talent when it comes to music and instruments. I am thankful that I was given a very talented son.

I still remember nursery rhymes after all these years

February 3rd, 2010 by admin

Isn’t it crazy that stuff like nursery rhymes stick in your head for like thirty years, but certain blog passwords evade you from yesterday? Apparently, a five-year-old can remember every line from Ghostbusters for three decades, but a grown person can’t remember where she left her keys from five hours ago.

Other things I remember from childhood:

• The planets in order from the Sun (this is when Pluto was still considered a planet)

• My address from 1977

• My sister’s locker combination

Things I’ve forgotten that I wish I didn’t”

• The presidents of the U.S. in order (I was in gifted so we didn’t spend time learning useful stuff)

• States and capitals

• The number of people I’ve slept with.

But, man, Jack sure was nimble and quick.

Making My Own Playlist

February 1st, 2010 by admin

Most of the music that is played on local radio stations are from play lists created based on the current most popular songs.  I find that it doesn’t give a lot of variety and quickly gets pretty repetitive and boring.  I like to listen to a wide variety of music that isn’t necessarily mainstream enough to get radio play time.  This is where the free ares download website is a great source of music for me.  It allows me to browse through millions of different music files made available from users all around the world and download whatever is of interest to me to make my own play lists on my computer and MP3 player.  Since I have discovered this website I rarely listen to the radio anymore.

Which is Better?

January 13th, 2010 by admin

I read a lot about the nutrisystem vs medifast debate and I can honestly say that I would like to try Medifast more than Nutrisystem. Both are probably very good, but I really like the idea of a doctor approved diet. I would rather trust my body and health to a doctor than to a company like with the other one. I do want to lose weight and I am weighing my options carefully. I believe people are honest when they say they lose weight with both of them but I guess you just have to pick the right one that is for you. You never know I guess until you try.

A conversation with a girl who uses eft handed electric guitars

December 25th, 2009 by admin

One day at the park, while I was waiting for my friend to visit our sick friend, I met a girl who’s playing guitar. What’s so amazing is that she’s playing a left handed electric guitar, I came to her and started a little conversation and ask if it’s hard to play Left handed electric guitars too. She told me that it isn’t hard since she’s left handed and left handed guitars really suits person’s like her.

It was really nice talking to her.’ I didn’t even realize that I’ve been waiting for my friend for almost an hour, so I decided to call her. I was so angry when she told me that she couldn’t make it and we’ll just meet at our sick friend’s house.

You’re the best around…

December 16th, 2009 by admin

That was the line from on of my favorite 80’s movies, Karate Kid! Well, hold that thought for a new up and coming band named Dear Daddy! They seriously might be the best female group I have heard in a very long time! I happened to stumble upon them by accident while I was searching the Internet last night for a school project on the history of Rock and Roll. I was watching videos on YouTube and one came up with these three girls rocking out big time! There was a DJ in the back jamming out beats. I love to watch something unique, these girls have it!

Teaching the Blues on Guitar to my Ten Year Old Son

December 13th, 2009 by admin

My family is a very musical family and we love all kinds of music, but our very favorite is the blues.  One of my children, my 10 year old son, has always wanted to play the guitar but no one in the family knows how to play that particular instrument, so I went online looking for a website that gives blues guitar lessons and found the perfect site for us.  After I signed up we started getting information and with them knowing he was only 10 years old, they sent the lessons for someone his age.  I am so pleased with it and he is having such a great time learning the guitar and playing the blues.
