Goeth German Cultural Center

September 10th, 2008 by admin

One of the great things about New York City is that you will never run out of interesting things to see and do. A very popular place for tourists to visit is the Goethe House German Cultural Center. Anyone who has even a slight interest in German culture should make this a stop on his or her travel itinerary. Those who live in or around the city and want to learn how to speak German should definitely visit the museum, as they offer classes and exams. If you are just traveling through, however, you will still want to stop and see the galleries and the library. Everything in the Center offers a glimpse at the German people of yesterday and today. The Goethe House German Cultural Center also hosts a variety of events to highlight German culture. These include showings of films and signings by German writers. Most of these events are open to the public and free. Visitors will find that the Center is located in a townhouse near Central Park. In fact, it is just across the street from the Met (Metropolitan Museum of Art). Exploring the Center is a good way to spend a few hours and learn something at the same time.

Is Dancing Changing Today?

September 7th, 2008 by admin

We’ve seen many changes in the music industry over the years. In particular the emergence of hip-hop, rap and r&b which have come on strong since the 90s. And also the emergence of mp3s as a form of listening to music.

Has dancing changed at all, since there is so much dancing associated with music with things such as music videos?

The answer is yes. Dancing has changed a lot also. A lot of the choreography you’re seeing today is going along with the beats of the music rather than the simple beat. Hip-hop dance, although perhaps not as prevalent as hip-hop music certainly has an elevated mantle.

Many music artists including the likes of Will.i.am, Justin Timberlake and Usher prefer to use hip-hop dance moves in their videos. In fact if you watch the top music videos from the 80s and 90s to the 00s you’ll see that not only has the music you’re listening to changed, but the dancing has undergone almost as big a change as well.

Buy doll clothes #038

September 7th, 2008 by admin

Whether you are a collector of dolls and doll accessories or you are just looking for a new outfit and accessories for your dolls, you can buy them online. There are many places where you can purchase clothes #038; accessories; and other products. I would check the internet before you went to a store that may specialize in dolls or whatnot, as you can usually find great deals on bulk and wholesale items as well as individual items. Otherwise, you may want to check out local yard sales (call before you show up), flea markets, antique stores, and doll conventions and expos.

Wedding Photography in Coventry

September 6th, 2008 by admin

As my wedding day approaches, I am just so excited to see how all of the planning is going to come together. My mother and I have worked so hard to ensure that everything goes smoothly, and I have every confidence that things will go well. I have the best wedding photography in Coventry, and know that the photographer will do an amazing job. I also love my dress and have chosen beautiful flowers. Most importantly, though, I love the man I am going to marry and I look forward to spending the rest of our lives together very happily.

Pictures of Town

September 5th, 2008 by admin

I saw a collection of pictures the other day at a local art show that just blew me away. Houston Photographer Sylvester Garza took the pictures, and then arranged them in his studio in town. They were so perfect, and it was one of those rare occasions where something captured in print rivals the beauty of real life. I was not the only one to be impressed with the work either, as person after person came to the table expressing my same thoughts. It is so great that we have someone locally who was that high level of talent that we can all enjoy.

Oh How We Danced on the Night We Were Wed

September 1st, 2008 by admin

I love the waltz and, since I was a little girl I knew I would one day wear a white dress and be spun around a big dance floor at my wedding.

My ideas about weddings came from the historical novels I read, as well as movies I had seen. I love old-fashioned clothes, manners, and music.

But, when I did get engaged, I realized that in modern times we do not usually get dance lessons while growing up. Still, I wanted my waltz.

So my fiancee and I took bridal dance lessons. We learned the waltz and many other dances.

And, just like in my dreams, I was waltzed around the dance floor in my white dress.

Celebrities

August 26th, 2008 by admin

There is such a huge fascination with celebrities now days. It seems the interest wasn’t this intense years ago, but now it seems that the public has become enthralled with the movie stars and pop stars now more than ever. Everywhere you go you see celebrity pictures plastered on billboards, magazines, bus stops, buses, tv ads, and just about anywhere else you can think of. I think one of the reasons is that the internet has made it easier to read about celebrities, and it boost the public interest in their lives when otherwise the interest may not be as much.

The elusive sound of the Tabla drum

August 25th, 2008 by admin

I love the tabla drums and the sounds that they make.  However it has taken my relatives many years to learn the proper way to play these drums.  One must remember that the tablas are made up of  two different drums.  Each drum has its own unique sound, one is like a bass drum and the other like a high pitch drum sound. Many people in the United States crave the sound of the Tabla drums but there are very very few places where one can hear the tabla drums. To make real progress you need to practice constantly and a master teacher will take you to levels that cannot be achieved by yourself alone.

Aftermarket Grilles & Chrome Car Accessories From the USA

August 20th, 2008 by admin

In the 1980s and 90s, it was cheaper to buy cars and chrome car accessories in Canada, even after factoring in the exchange rate.  Many US consumers bought their cars in Canada and shipped them south.  Up until 2-3 years ago, that is.  That’s when the strength of the Canadian dollar started to turn things around. Now, it’s having a huge impact - one that will let you save approximately $8,000 to $12,000 on a $35,000 car.  If you are shopping for a high end luxury vehicle, you could save upwards of $25,000!  These saving also exist for chrome car accessories, grilles, and other aftermarket parts.

Creative Design Pixels

August 18th, 2008 by admin

Just because everybody’s using it doesn’t mean that you also have to use the font in your brochure printing ads. Raster graphics creates images from simple line arrangements and usually has a bitmap format, where the image is pixelized for creative design (those visible squares that appear when you enlarge a photo). Printing started with several peoples like Egyptians, Assyrians, Samarians and Chinese and other ancient civilizations. First and foremost, site design is critical to the success of your visual identity.

What are graphic design correspondence courses?

August 15th, 2008 by admin

When looking up information about graphic design, you come across a school that has Graphic design correspondence courses and you have no clue what this means. Correspondence courses are also named distance learning courses and they are courses that are not done in a traditional setting. They are courses that can be done online, in the comforts of your own home or actually anywhere that you have a computer with you. These courses mail you your studies and you take your tests online or through the mail. You do all of your work and projects in your own time and your own space.

I Think That The Fox Reality TV Shows Are The Best.

August 8th, 2008 by admin

I have to say that I really enjoy watching reality tv shows. Some of my favorites are the Fox reality tv shows like Hell’s Kitchen and American Idol. I think that those are defiantly my all time favorites and I really hope that they never get cancelled. I am not sure what I would do if they ever did. I know that some day it will happen I just like them so much that I don’t really want to think about that. I guess I will find some new ones to love then, after all they do come out with new ones every year.

Getting married

July 29th, 2008 by admin

I just moved to the U.K. to be with my future husband. I used to live in the U.S. and I met him when he was visiting California for a business conference. He had several business trips there, so we kept seeing each other every time he would come for a meeting. Fast forward a year, and now I’m searching for a wedding photographer in Leeds to take our wedding pictures. If you would have asked me a year ago if I would be living in the U.K., I would have said you were crazy. Never mind the fact that now I’m getting married as well. You never know what the future holds.
