Online Law Degrees

September 21st, 2008 by admin

Many people ar very surprised to learn that the American Bar Association still does not accept law degrees from off the Internet.

I thought there was an ABA Accredited Online Law Degree & I was shocked to realize that the ABA hadn’t caught up with the rest of the world, even after well over 20 years of public Internet access.

Perhaps it is time for the American Bar Association to reassess their policies & make an amendment to them that will allow many more men & women to enter the law profession.

We all know the law profession could use some fresh blood!

General questions can be answered by the probate register’s staff

September 19th, 2008 by admin

You can get an answer to a probate law question from the staff of your local probate office. However, they can only provide general information that does not represent legal advice. This is for their protection. If they give you legal advice that you follow and you have a negative experience as a result, you could possibly sue the division. The staff can only answer basic questions such as the procedure for filing a claim with the probate register and the necessary forms that are involved. If you need someone to evaluate your case, you will need to hire an attorney.

How I Use My Law Degree

September 5th, 2008 by admin

From a young age, I knew that I wanted to be a lawyer. In elementary school, I wrote several “what I want to be when I grow up” stories about becoming a lawyer. While a majority of people never follow through or change their minds, I was not one of these people. I attended law school and obtained my degree. I’m proud to say that I was near the top of my class. But, I didn’t want to be a big-shot legal eagle. I found patent law to be very interesting. So, that’s what I decided to pursue. I enjoy helping people with all aspects of patents, including determining the types of patents for which to apply. It’s always interesting to see what could be the next best invention.

Family vs. Crime

August 24th, 2008 by admin

I have an uncle who was recently put in to prison for ten years, for being a sex offender. I was torn between feelings when he was sentenced for his crimes. I know that he needs to serve his time and go through his punishment, just like any other sex offender I would have known. Just because he is my family member, I can not make excuses for him. When he is released from prison, he will be in court records that will be available to anyone who checks them. People who live around him will know what he has done and will be careful to keep their families safe.

Estate Planning

August 9th, 2008 by admin

Planning an estate is much harder to plan that just figuring who gets what.  The most important thing to consider is who is going to probate the estate or specifically who is going to be the executor. Probate is a very complicated task, and probate takes a big commitment. Most family members really don’t have the experience, or time to complete the executor probate responsibilities. Having seen a lot of good intention people get in a lot of trouble regarding probate my best advice is to find a probate attorney. They are really the only ones who are experts in probate.  If you are going through probate make sure you find a local probate attorney because they may have to go to the local probate court to handle the estates affairs.

A probate attorney role in settling an estate

July 21st, 2008 by admin

Having assets distributed fairly after someone dies is a lot more complicated than you think. First the settling an estate process has to go through probate which is the act of proving the validity of the will. Next in settling an estate the probate attorney has to pay the estate creditors. Finding all the assets in an estate is also a important function in settling an estate. Settling an estate also means following state probate laws.  One of the reasons you need an attorney in settling an estate is that these probate laws are complicated and if you make a mistake you can get in big trouble.  If your family is settling an estate make sure everyone knows that it is going to take time.  With the aid of a good probate attorney settling an estate usually takes 9 months to 2 years.  If you get a top probate attorney the settling an estate may take a little less time.

Studies show - rosetta stone reviews

July 20th, 2008 by admin

Anytime I have a good experience with a place or product, I try to find a place to leave them a review. Studies show that people are more likely to review something if they have had a negative experience than if they have had a positive experience. I know that this is true in a lot of cases, however certain products always get great reviews. I was reading the Rosetta Stone reviews, for example, and there were a lot of people who were perfectly willing to leave stellar reviews for this company. In fact, there were far more good reviews than bad ones and that is saying something.

Privacy Violation?

July 14th, 2008 by admin

You better know for a fact that your privacy is not safe any more. No, this is not something I have just made up on a blog. This is a really serious issue. Aerial Satelite images have made it possible to capture and track your whole life. The camera is always on somewhere. It can capture every single intimate moment of your life. The important question is, who will set its limits, and who will decide to police the police? Although I am writing this in a light manner, I am not taking this matter lightly. I think this is a serious offense to invade anybody’s personal life.

Save Time With Theme Bible Study

July 8th, 2008 by admin

Grasping the full and greater depth of a theme or subject within the Bible has it’s challenges. Because the Bible is not laid out like a encyclopedia or a text book that breaks up different subjects into their own sections. Instead, the same subjects with the same or similar messages are scattered through out the entire Bible. A Theme Bible Study depending on your approach can be just as meaningful if not more meaningful than a book by book study. As you embark on a Theme Bible Study, here are a few Bible options you may want to consider. Thematic, which allows you to explore in detail your particular subject, or a Topical, which offer scripture references which are grouped by topics.
