Ensuring a Healthy Quality of Life

July 30th, 2010 by admin

Offering health insurance is one way some companies attract and maintain employees. So it follows that some corporations have turned their attention to hiring wellness professionals in order to help stem absenteeism. The rationale is simple: healthy workers tend to show up for work more often and are generally more productive than those who are not. Fitness centers tied to hospitals tend to tailor their services to reducing the risk of high-cost conditions such as diabetes, obesity, or stroke. And managed care facilities often employ people with a personal training certification to improve the quality of life in the aging population. According to the United States Census Bureau, life expectancy is projected to increase from 76 years in 1993 to 82.6 years by 2050. With more people living longer than ever before, this will likely to continue to be a growth area for years to come.
