“You can’t teach an old dog new tricks!” Dog training is a valuable way to keep your pets’ safe as well as making sure that they are healthy. Most dogs are trained as puppies to use the restroom outside, sit, stay, etc. This makes them a lovable and enjoyable creature for the rest of their lives. It is important that they respect their owners and that their owners do the same in return in order for dog training to work. The first thing to do with your pet is to make sure that you set limits. As long as your dog understands the importance of maintaining the house rules, your dog will remain obedient. Also, you should gather materials to make sure your pet understands the rules of the house. These items can include a crate, leashes, dog toys, treats, and even odor neutralizers. It is important to remember also that your pet will make mistakes at the beginning of training. Just remember to stay calm but firm so your dog understands that this is unacceptable. The dog will grow and learn from his mistake and the dog trainer will feel better about not losing his temper. Good luck.
