I can remember when I told my parents where I had met the girl of my dreams, the one I was going to marry and spend my life when.  “I met her online” was not accepted very well by my folks, so I had to do a lot of talking about why the Internet is not the worst place to be meeting people, etc.  I mean, I don’t go out a lot, so where else am I going to find an adult date?  It’s not that I’m a geek or anything, but I don’t much care for going out to the clubs and bars to meet people.
