Hymns

January 22nd, 2010 by admin

Most churches and religions have specific hymns they sing, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is no different. Jesus Christ told us, in the Doctrine and Covenants, that the song of the righteous is a prayer unto Him (25:12). Hymns can teach powerful mormon doctrine, as well. The Spirit can often touch people much more easily through music than in any other way. Music is a very powerful thing. That is why at least three hymns are sung in every Sacrament Meeting (the main Sunday meeting), two in Sunday School, and often at least one in any other Church meeting.
